Job offer from a German employer. In most cases, the offer must be in a qualified position (which requires a degree or vocational qualification)

University or vocational qualifications. You must have the necessary qualifications required for the visa you are applying for. Your qualifications must be comparable with a German qualification

Financial stability. You must earn enough to maintain yourself without relying on assistance. For certain visas, you need a minimum amount of income (e.g., €48.300/year (2025) for an EU Blue Card)

Language proficiency. Depending on the job you will take, you may need to prove German language skills (at least A1 or A2 level)

Visa and residence permit. You have to apply for a visa and residence permit before working. You apply for the visa in your home country and the residence permit after you arrive in Germany
